چکیده

Introduction: In complex microbial communities, the importance of species at very low abundance levels and their prevalence for overall community structure function is increasingly being recognized. Clinical microbiome studies on urinary stone disease (USD) have indicated that both gut tract microbiota are associated with onset kidney stones them-selves harbor a complex, yet consistent viable, microbiome. However, how rare phylotypes contribute to this association remains unclear. Delineating contribution common important development bacteriotherapies promote urologic health. Methods: The objectives current report were conduct metaanalysis 16S rRNA datasets derived from stone, stool, urine samples participants or without disease. To delineate impact phylotypes, metaanalyses conducted by first separating taxa determined frequency amplicon sequence variants. Results: Consistent previous analyses, we found gut, upper urinary, lower microbiomes all unique. Rare comprised majority observed in sample types, exhibiting greatest bias toward rarity, followed stool. Both fractions contributed significantly differences between types health disparity. Furthermore, taxonomically unique across types. A total 222 320 stool be USD. co-occurrence correlation analysis revealed most stones, Discussion: Collectively, results indicate may pathophysiology USD, particularly matrix, which inherently biomass niche can implications diagnosis treatment stones. Further needed investigate functional significance pathogenesis.

Redefining the Stone Belt: Precipitation Is Associated with Increased Risk of Urinary Stone Disease.

OBJECTIVES The American Southeast has been labeled the "Stone Belt" due to its relatively high burden of urinary stone disease, presumed to be related to its higher temperatures. However, other regions with high temperatures (e.g., the Southwest) do not have the same disease prevalence as the southeast. We seek to explore the association of stone disease to other climate-associated factors beyo...

Approach and Medical Management of Urinary Tract Stone in Children

Kidney stone disease has become more common in children, but it remains non diagnosed in a significant proportion of patients, due to a lack of notable signs and symptoms. All children with colicky abdominal pain or microscopic hematuria should be examined thoroughly for urolithiasis. Patients’ histories in terms of family, medical, and drug and a thorough physical examination are require...

Urinary citrate in kidney stone disease.

BACKGROUND Hypocitraturia, or low urinary citrate excretion is known as a risk for nephrolithiasis. Though urinary citrate excretion is basically determined by acid-base balance, metabolic acidosis is not always manifest in urinary stone patients with hypocitraturia. From our stone clinic data, we estimated the incidence of hypocitraturia and addressed its causes in the absence of obvious acid-...

Urinary tract stone disease in Nairobi.

At the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and other private hospitals in Nairobi urinary stone disease is not being correctly diagnosed. Over a 15 year period (1980-1995) only 56 patients have been confirmed to have urinary tract stones out of the expected number of 220 patients. The age range was 10-60 years. The peak age was 30-40 years. Pain and haematuria were the commonest presenting symptom...

Calcium intake and urinary stone disease

Calcium homeostasis is a complicated and incompletely understood process that is primarily regulated through an interaction between the intestines, kidneys, and bones. Intestinal calcium absorption is determined by many factors including the amount of regular calcium intake, as well as vitamin D and parathyroid hormone levels. Intestinal calcium absorption is likely different between stone form...
